Lower Macleay Preschool is a non-profit community-based preschool managed by families and members of our community. We are funded by the State Government and Department of Education and Communities, providing an early childhood education for children aged from three to school age.
Lower Macleay Preschool is a place where all children have the benefit of a strong focus on learning in social and emotional competencies, literacy, numeracy, learning about our environment, music, art, and science. We follow the emergent curriculum and uphold the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework. Our highly experienced educational team support children to enjoy learning within an environment that provides endless opportunities to explore, discover, hypothesize, and share their ideas with educators and peers. Our inside and outside environments motivate children to be passionate, active, hands-on learners.
Children’s social and emotional well being is very important for learning for life. At Lower Macleay Preschool we believe that children’s mental well being affects all aspects of their learning. We will work with our families to support children to have a healthy mind and attitude towards life. Children need to learn the skill of social competencies so that they can be capable, happy, responsible, thoughtful and confident members of our community.
All families are welcome at Lower Macleay Preschool and we will consider your child’s individual needs and how the preschool can adapt and respond to their changing needs, interests and abilities. We are motivated to continually maintain our professional standards with ongoing training and development within the early childhood profession.

Early Years Learning Framework
“In early childhood, and throughout life, relationships are crucial to a sense of belonging. Belonging shapes who children are and who they can become.”
